Statement of problem: 1.How is application of the Competency-Based Curriculum of English on the first class at SMPN 3 Tulungagung? 2. How is the effectiveness application of the Competency-Based Curriculum of English on the first class at SMPN 3 Tulungagung?
Significance of study: 1. Theoretically, the result of this research is expected to give contribution of understanding about the effectiveness of the application of Competency-Based Curriculum of English on the first class at SMPN 3 Tulungagung. 2. Practically, the result of this research is expected to be useful for: a. The Headmaster as feed back to give suggestion and motivation to the teachers and the students’ in teaching-learning process. b. The English teacher as feed back to improve and select good method in teaching-learning process utilizes Competency-Based Curriculum in order to make the students’ achievement better. c. The students as feed back to improve their positive attitude in studying English course to get good result. d. The writer as feed back to enrich understanding about English course especially the effectiveness of the application of Competency-Based Curriculum of English on the firs class.
Research Method: The object location: at SMPN 3 Tulungagung. Instrument of research: Researcher represents. Data source: a. primary data: Headmaster and proxy, English teacher, BK Teacher, Advisors, TU staff, Library staff and student, b. secondary data: personal document, memo or note, photo and formal document. Collecting data: observation technique, open interview and documentation study. Data analysis: Reduce data, subdividing of data, take conclusion and certification.
The result of study: Competency-Based Curriculum of English on the first class at SMPN 3 Tulungagung has been implemented well during one school year what have been wanted in concept of Competency-Based Curriculum in English study of application have truly though accompanied with small constraints. So affectivities application of Curriculum Based Competency-Based Curriculum of English has proven at SMPN 3 Tulungagung.
