Abstract: Being afraid of speaking foreign languages often happened everywhere with many different reason. This obstacle causes the purpose of learning far from the target. The purpose of the study is to describe how Role Play can improve the student’s speaking ability in German. This study involved all of the students, 17 students, in second year of class of language program. The data using analyzed descriptively using mean score. The findings reveal that teaching-learning German process using role play can arouse the students’ interest and make them produce a lot of sentences. It is suggested to the language teachers to apply this technique in their class.
